Paid to click programs can't make you rich!

/ Monday, January 14, 2013 /

Paid to click programs can't make you rich!Paid to click programs (PTC) are those sites that lets you earn money by clicking on their ads. PTC sites offers about $0.0001 to $0.02 per click, if they offer $1.00 or more it should be a scam site.

Spot a scam site

I have been with PTC sites before, but I quit due to a very small commissions per click. I hardly makes $1 a day, its like P40.00 pesos per day for about 2 hours (thanks to our slow internet connection), if I go longer electricity bills will kill me. Sure, I can upgrade my account but no thanks, clicking ads everyday is boring, and its not fun either.

A lot of people are joining these sites mainly for the following reason.
  • It is the easiest way to make money. Clicking on ads is very simple, anyone can do it. No skills needed (not really).
  • Membership is free. You can pay if you want an upgrade but it is optional.
  • You can see your results. If you join PTC sites you can see your earning on your screen which motivates you to click more, which is more real.
  • Main reason is to make money .
PTC sites can actually earn you money, and you can join a lot of sites for higher earning potential. The downside of joining many sites is that you will get tired sometimes, repeating the same routine all over again... click, log in, click, log in, click, log in... believe me you will get bored.

Besides clicking on ads, referring other people to join can also earn you money, which is I think is the most effective strategy to earn on PTC programs. The number of people you referred will determine your success. If you have a hard time referring people, earning big bucks with PTC sites is just a dream. It's because you cannot mainly depend on clicks to earn a lot of money.

Referring people is hard task, you need to have online marketing techniques, which is a SKILL needed to make money even on simple programs like Paid to Click.

Who says about easy money? Even on PTC sites skills are needed.

PTC programs is the like a leprechaun we see on cereal boxes, he keeps chasing a pot of gold through a rainbow, in the end there are no gold all he sees was cereal. This kind of programs promises huge earning potentials but in the end, results are just a small bucks and that is why paid to click programs can't make you rich!

One reason why your blog is not earning money

/ Tuesday, January 8, 2013 /

altMake money online has been the trending word on the Internet, whether it is on facebook or twitter you will see a lot of ads linking to making money online. And blogging has been the most popular way to earn money on the Internet.

There are a lot of bloggers around the world trying their luck to be successful online. Based on stats, there are almost 3 millions articles being posted everyday, 500, 000 + of them are from professional bloggers trying to transition their audience from reading to buying.

But the truth is, only about a small percentage of bloggers are actually making money, some are blogging for peanuts, others quit due to frustrations.

The main reason why a lot of bloggers is not earning enough money is because of one important factor, NO ONE LISTENS.

Your audience is your key to success

Every blogging decision you make will decide the outcome of your blogs traffic or the number of audience. Keep in mind that you are blogging to help them, with that you gain reputation, and if your audience trusts you, they will purchase anything you endorse them.

But even though most people has a good amount of traffic, they still can't earn the money they desire.  It is because they targeted the wrong audience.

Select a profitable audience

If you are writing about something, try to picture your ideal audience, what is he like? does he have the power to purchase? will my writing help them?

Since my blog is about blogging, here is a sample of my target audience, he is 25- 45 years old, got a day job, his blogging skills are new and wanted to learn more, he loves blogging designs, etc... Because he is my target audience I intend to write simple blogging tips, simple installation of blogger tricks for him to understand my writings easily.

In short, your targeted audience should understand the value you are delivering to them. They wanted to know something that you could only deliver it to them. Your content fits perfectly to what they are looking for.

You can see the signs if they like your post on the comments section. Some of them are still hungry for more and will try to email you for updates or inside information. Check out how long your visitors stick to your posts by using Google Analytics.

Attract your desired audience

The most simple way to attract your profitable audience is to show your expertise, your experience and great results. Help your readers and see their results, if it turned out to be good, they will refer you to their network of people. Carrying yourself as an expert will help build confidence to your readers.

Hang out with them. Find the place where they usually get together, and try guest posting or leave though-provoking comments, in that way they will notice you. Ask questions on what your audience problems, then make a unique post about it or even write an E-book.

At first they will not come to you. Why should they? Prove yourself first and be aggressive. Show up and deliver consistently.

Once they come to your blog, never disappoint them. Keep on writing those unique contents they desire until they beg to do business with you. If you do this correctly, expect a lot of subscriptions and marketing sales.

Your blogs ugly design will not make you money

Although content is the most important in blogging, its design also plays a big role to attract readers. Its difficult to get your readers interested on your content if you have a bad looking design. If you want to make a good relationship with your audience, you should practice good grooming on your blog sites.

Fist time visitors usually notices your blogs design first, if they find it appealing they will stick around and will come back for more, if it is ugly they will close it immediately without browsing your content.

Write for a specific niche

Some bloggers write for themselves and some write for everyone. It is both wrong. You should target a specific niche because it adds character to a blog. If your blog doesn't have a specific niche, it won't attract a lot of people and will have a hard time earning money.

Most bloggers uses this method because it is easy and very effective. If you have a very popular blog, then start saving some ads space and try these different ways to earn money using banner advertising.

#1. Create an "advertise here" page

If you are new to banner advertising I suggest you do this first. You need to create a single page with all the information of your site like, alexa rank, page rank, monthly impressions, etc. Also put a detailed information for your prospect advertiser and what payment method you accept. Direct advertising is good because it will save you money from paying commissions on advertising networks. But you need to pull in a lot of advertisers to become successful doing this method.

#2. Buy sell ads Network

This is one of the most popular ways to earn money through banner advertising. High ranking blogger blogs like mybloggerlab and mybloggertricks.com uses this method. But it only accepts self hosted websites and blogs. Free blog domains are not accepted. The good thing about this is publishers and advertisers are working directly, buyads.com will not charge the advertiser a single penny unless the publisher approves it request. It also gives transparency which is cool because you know where your money goes.

Is your blog affiliate marketing ready
Affiliate marketing is a kind of relation between the website owner and the business owner. A webmaster is also called a publisher and the business owner is an advertiser. For a business to success they need to advertise, a website is one of the best way to advertise a product, and that is when affiliate marketing enters. Business owners offers commissions to website owners to publish or advertise their products or service for sale. In other words, bloggers help advertisers sell their products to its readers.

If you want to make huge bucks online I suggest affiliate marketing, because many professional bloggers earn a lot from it. But, it is not easy especially for beginners. For you to become successful you need to have a blog integrated and ready for affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing payment method

  • Cost Per Sale- a publisher gets paid if he sells a product.

  • Cost Per 1000 impressions- an advertisers pays the publisher if the ads is viewed 1000 times, this is great for blogs that has a high amount of traffic.
  • Cost Per Click- the merchant pays the publisher if a visitor clicks on an ads, this is the same as Google's Adsense.

Tips to make your blog affiliate marketing ready

1. Make your template ads ready

First thing you need to do is to have a blog template ready for advertising. There are a lot of free blog templates out there you can choose. A good template for ads is very important, because it creates an impact on the products you sell, place them perfectly and they will be easily noticed. Always save some space for your ads.

2. Write contents related to your product

This is one of the most important thing to remember when you are into affiliate marketing. Your contents should match with your ads. Example, if you are blogging on how to get fit, you should put ads related to fitness and loosing weight, so that you will have a higher chance of selling that product from your audience.

3. Choose only a handful of great products

A lot of publishers didn't make money through affiliate marketing is because they are promoting and trying to sell too many products. You only need to promote a handful of products and remember that it should align correctly with the topic of your site.

4. Create personal reviews

If you are a blogger with high credibility, writing personal reviews on the product you are selling is a great way to get that extra commissions. Most successful bloggers do that, they review a product to be endorsed to their readers. Be sure to be honest because your credibility is on the line. But limit yourself from too much reviews, only mention it when it is relevant to the conversation and then provide it with links. Your goal as a blogger is to entertain and give useful information to your readers not to strictly sell products or else you will loose readers.

5. Do a research on the demand of the product

If you are going to sell, make sure it sells. If its demand is very low chances are that you cannot sell that product no matter how hard you try. Do a survey on what you're readers likes, create a poll on your website to get a hint on what product or service they want.

6. Stay current and up to date

Affiliate marketing is very competitive and that is why you need to be consistently up to date about your topic and the products you are endorsing. You need to be updated on the latest techniques or else you will be left behind.

7. Choose the right merchant

Promoting a product is also promoting the company and the person behind it. Do your homework, check if the merchant has a good track record. Your credibility is on the line, you give advice to people to buy that product, if they are very unhappy with the product they purchase they probably won't come back for more and you will loose readers. Just make sure you are endorsing a product or service that will satisfy their needs.

8. Track your affiliate marketing campaign

You need to use different product promotion for your campaign, in that way you will know what works and what doesn't. Changing your strategy here and there can dramatically increase your profit. Try changing or experimenting with your ad banners, monitor the behavior of your readers and check where the ads are visible or where it blends perfectly with your website. Most affiliate programs gives you basic statistics on your campaign, so use it.

If you keep this in mind, you will earn a lot of money and not loose a single readers instead they will refer your service and you will increase more visitors and potential customers. A structured plan is always need to become successful in affiliate marketing.

How to create a blog on blogger | Advantage and Disadvantage

/ Thursday, November 22, 2012 /

Kumusta! today I will share to you how to start up and create your very first blog on blogger.com. I recommend this blogging platform for those who has no budget for hosting or for those who knows little or none about HTML or CSS, you can also earn money blogging through Google Adsense. But before we start I would like to share to you the Advantage and Disadvantage of blogger.com.

Advantage

  • Easy to use. If you have a google account, you can use it to log in into blogger.com, once you finished signing up you can start blogging right away!
  • No need to install anything.
  • Domain name is free. Although you can see a .blogspot.com in your domain name, it is still free. You can remove it later if you want.
  • Very easy to post. If you are familiar with microsoft word or paint, then you will not have a hard time using blogger when posting articles, because it looks like the same. Its dashboard is user friendly and easy to use.
  • One dashboard. All you need is one blogger.com account and you can create multiple blogs and you can manage them all in one dashboard.
  • Blog theme is easy to change. If you can't design your own template, there are many sites that offer blogger templates, you can try them without cost.
  • No special skills needed. You don't need to be techie savvy, but a little knowledge would definitely help.
  • Google friendly.

Disadvantage

  • Limited flexibility. Compared to self hosted blogs like wordpress.org, your blogger has its limitation on terms of flexibility. Some blogger blogs almost looked the same because it has limitations on its design.
  • You don't own your blog. Although you own your articles and posts, blogger.com is owned by Google. It is just like you are renting an office space that is not yours.
  • Google can delete your blog anytime. If you violate some of their rules on using blogger, your blog can easily be deleted, and it sucks a lot! all of your hardwork could banish anytime if Google wants to.
  • Blog name is long. Having ".blogspot.com" in your blog domain could be annoying. Most people are used to typing without a sub domain.
  • SEO limitations. It could be, it could be not. Actually for me it depends on the blogger itself on how he markets on search engines. But blogger.com has no SEO plugins compared to wordpress. In blogger.com SEO is done manually.

Now we are done with the introduction lets begin creating a blog on blogger.com.

How to create a blog on blogger.com

1. Go to blogger.com. You can sign in using your Google account if you have one. If you have no Google account you should create one.

2. Once you are done signing in, go to your blogger dashboard and click on new blog. As you can see on the image above you will put the title of your blog and its URL. I suggest you use a domain name that matches with your blog topic. Once the address is available you can choose templates below and click on create blog.

3. Now that you have a blog you can start posting articles. Design your blog some other time, you need to have at least 15 articles on your blog. And you are done!

If you have some questions about redesigning it you can comment below or visit my my articles about blogger tips, widgets, and tricks.

Happy blogging!

Blog and website: are they the same

/ Friday, November 16, 2012 /

People seems to be confused about blogs and websites (I was one of them before). Today I will discuss about it. Technically blogs and websites are the same, but there are distinct and relevant differences and advantages to both.

What is the difference between a blog and a website

A blog is like a magazine

A blog is a website designed to engage an audience with fresh content just like in a magazine. If you are a blogger you are also considered as a publisher. Your latest post is the first page of a magazine and your home page is the cover.

Search engines love blogs because it provides fresh and has relevant content. Search engines like Google gives importance to those blogs with high quality articles, by putting them on the first page when someone searches their keywords.

If you go to CNN.com you will see a lot of topics to read, from sports, politics to entertainment. What if you only like sports? then that's the time people search for blogs. People has different interests and a niche blog provides that service.

Because a blog is specific and always fresh, they are a target for a lot of advertisers. And that is why you can make a living through blogging.

A Website is like a digital store

Some consumers are more concerned about the product and ready to buy. They don't have time for those product reviews etc.

If you have a service or a product on high demand, then a website is perfect for your business. A website is like a online store, where service and products are already placed and ready for the customer to purchase.

If you're website is struggling to attract new readers and customers then you should combine a traditional website and a blog.

Remember the Internet is usually used to search, and blogs are the ones appearing highly on search engines rather than websites because they are specific and always has new content. Creating a blog for your website will help you increase visibility on search engines.

A blog and a website

Blog
  • Content is regularly updated.
  • Not formal.
  • Interactive.
  • Informative and educational.
  • Interactivity about industry/customer issues.
  • Some people have a blog.
Website
  • Content is static.
  • Formal/professional.
  • Interactivity does not exist. There is only one-way communication.
  • Transactional.
  • Communication about products and/or services.

5 ways to make money using your smartphone

/ Sunday, November 11, 2012 /

5 ways to make money using your smartphoneDo you have a smartphone? like an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy. Do you want to make money during your spare time using your smartphone?. If yes, then I will share some tips on how to make money using your smartphone.

Usually people uses their cellphones for texting and entertainment, smartphones on the other hand are technically advanced that most cellphones, they are like a laptop in the palm of your hands and when you have a gadget that has almost all of the features of a laptop, then you can make money during your spare time.

Instead of playing Angry birds or temple run, why not make a profit out of your phone. Here are some tips on how to make money using your smartphone.

1. Sell Load.

The Philippines is one of the country that has the most numbers of cellphone users in the world. The country sends and receives more SMS than any other Asian country, each messages sent needs a load and selling load or e-load will help you make a profit using your phone.

You don't need to have store to sell, all you have to do is do all your daily routine, go to your office and let them know you sell load so that they will approach you when they want to buy.

2. Write article or blog.

With a smartphone you can actually write for your blog. Most phones has access to the Internet and you can take advantage of that features of your phone to make money from blogs.

The only disadvantage is that there are websites that are not friendly with smartphones and you can't view them as you view it on a computer. My advice is use it only to write articles not to design your blog because looking at those tiny codes just might hurt your eyes.

3. Take Pictures.

The quality of phone camera is improving. I think someday we won't need professional photographers anymore because anyone can now learn how to shoot their own pictures.

There are magazines, newspaper, and news company that buys exclusive photos. A smartphone is great for that, because you bring it anywhere and when a UFO crashed in front of you, you can take pictures immediately and sell it to the newspaper Peter Parker style!

4. Make money on eBay or other Online Auctions.

When you are just strolling around and you find some garage sale or Ukay ukay then you see some item you liked. You checked its original price online using your phone and then you find out that it is actually expensive than the selling price of the ukay ukay. Buy it! take pictures of it then sell it on eBay or other Online Auctions website.

A smart phone gives you the opportunity to do your research while in the field and even post the item for sale before making it home.

5. Upload videos on you tube.

Editing capabilities of a smartphone on youtube is minimal, but you can actually record and upload videos on you tube.

Upload a video of something that will be viral on the net like a talking dog or a funny monkey, if it receives a lot of views you can make a lot of profit on you tube.

Pros and Cons of Phone Blogging

Pros: The cost is very cheap and you are always on the go. Your job fits inside your pocket and you will have flexibility.

Cons: You can't view everything on a smartphone because of its browser. Applications you are going to use on your blog is limited.

Get backlinks when someone copies your content

/ Saturday, November 10, 2012 /
Most of you are spending precious time creating unique article for your readers and when someone comes and copies your hard work without permission and also not giving you credit by creating backlinks to its original post, it actually feels bad.

You need a backlink to credit all of your hard work and  I have here ways on how to get backlinks when someone copies your content.

This will work on blogger and wordpress. Here are the simple steps

1. Go to your blogger.com account.
2. Click Layout > Add gadget> select HTML/ javascript
3. Copy and paste the code below

<script type='text/javascript'>
function addLink(){var a=document.getElementsByTagName("body")[0];var b;b=window.getSelection();var c="<br/><br/> Source : <a href='"+document.location.href+"'>"+document.location.href+"</a><br/>Content Copyrighted to Hobby to Money";var d=b+c;var e=document.createElement("div");e.style.position="absolute";e.style.left="-99999px";a.appendChild(e);e.innerHTML=d;b.selectAllChildren(e);window.setTimeout(function(){a.removeChild(e)},0)}document.oncopy=addLink
</script>

 4. Just edit the code colored in blue as you like. Save your gadget and you are all done.

When someone copies your article an attribution link will automatically appear. giving you a backlink to your site.

Try it for yourself, copy an article from your blog and paste it, you will see a source line below of that copied text.
