How to earn money using banner advertising

/ Friday, January 4, 2013 /

One of the most effective way to earn money online is through banner advertising. In this article I will share to you the different ways to use your blog's banner to earn more money. Most bloggers uses this method because it is easy and very effective. If you have a very popular blog, then start saving some ads space and try these different ways to earn money using banner advertising.

#1. Create an "advertise here" page

If you are new to banner advertising I suggest you do this first. You need to create a single page with all the information of your site like, alexa rank, page rank, monthly impressions, etc. Also put a detailed information for your prospect advertiser and what payment method you accept. Direct advertising is good because it will save you money from paying commissions on advertising networks. But you need to pull in a lot of advertisers to become successful doing this method.

#2. Buy sell ads Network

This is one of the most popular ways to earn money through banner advertising. High ranking blogger blogs like mybloggerlab and mybloggertricks.com uses this method. But it only accepts self hosted websites and blogs. Free blog domains are not accepted. The good thing about buysellads.com is there is a lot of advertisers who will pay good money for buying your blog space. Publishers gets 75% of the earnings, the rest goes to them.

 #3. AdvertiseSpace

If you have no luck of being accepted on Buysellads.com try AdvertiseSpace.com. It is an alternative advertising network that accepts almost any type of blogs. It is a good way to make money from banners but you need to have a huge volume of traffic for it to be effective.

#4. BuyAds

If your blog is one of the Internet giants, buyads.com is for you. Mashable, Tech crunch, Huffington post are just some of the blogging giants that used this site to sell banners. The good thing about this is publishers and advertisers are working directly, buyads.com will not charge the advertiser a single penny unless the publisher approves it request. It also gives transparency which is cool because you know where your money goes.

#5. BannerPlay

Here is another way to earn more bucks using banner advertising. Bannerplay.com is good for publishers, advertisers, affiliate marketers and even for  banner designers. The site is not only for buying and selling ads, you can also browse a lot of beautifully designed banners for your ad campaign.

Note

Earning through banner advertising is not that easy, a blog needs to have a specific niche, a good amount of traffic, and consistent article posting. You can experiment with these methods as wish and select which one fits your style.

SEO tips for beginners

/ Wednesday, January 2, 2013 /

SEO or search engine optimization has been a nightmare for non techie bloggers. Majority of my time blogging is being spent learning about SEO instead of writing. At first I have no clue of what is it all about, but after reading and learning from experts, SEO is just plain common sense and simplicity.

What is SEO

SEO tips for beginnersSearch engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's "natural" or un-paid ("organic") search results.[jargon] In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine's users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search, news search and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content, HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic.

The plural of the abbreviation SEO can refer to "search engine optimizers," those who provide SEO service.

SEO tips for beginners

There are two parts of SEO that you should be aware of. It is called on page and off page optimization.
  • On page optimization is making sure that your website pages are optimized properly so that search engines know what your pages are about.
  • Off page optimization is all about getting backlinks to your website from other websites. Backlinks determine how important your website is because search engines perceive backlinks as votes.

I will share to you basic SEO techniques that will help you increase your ranks on search engines as well as improve traffic.

1. Add meta tags.

Websites mostly rely on big search engines like google and yahoo for good traffic. And when search spiders come to your website for archiving, they may not pick those keywords, phrases, information from your website if you don't have meta description tags.

A meta description tag is supposed to be a brief and concise summary of your page's content. It is optional you may or you may not add, but I prefer adding them to get better traffic from search engines. How you do it.

Go to your blogger template, look for <head> tag and below it copy and paste the following.

<title>TITLE_OR_NAME_OF_YOUR_WEBSITE</title>
<link href="mailto:YOUR_EMAIL_ADDRESS_HERE" rev="made"/>
<meta content="ALL_KEYWORDS_HERE_SEPARATED_BY_COMMAS" name="keywords"/>
<meta content="YOUR_NAME_HERE" name="author"/>
<b:if cond='data:blog.url == data:blog.homepageUrl'>
<meta content="GENERAL_DESCRIPTION_HERE" name="description"/>
</b:if>
<meta content="CHOOSE BELOW" name="ROBOTS"/>

Change the words in capital letters

Replace the words colored in BLUE with your own description
For the words colored in red choose any of the 4 below.

(ex. <meta content="INDEX, NOFOLLOW" name="ROBOTS"/>)

INDEX,FOLLOW Index this page and follow all links.
INDEX,NOFOLLOW Index this page but do not follow or index links on this page.
NOINDEX,FOLLOW Do not index this page but follow all links.
NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW Do not index this page. Do not follow or index links on this page.

2. Image descriptions

Search spiders can only search text and that is why you need to put descriptions on your images so that they can crawl your blogs images. Start your images with an ALT tag, here is an example.

From this
<img border="0" height="352" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgAP8ngV-ffjfIVn7rgVZ_Ku6ClCCPKVn9c0KclCdKOBRGVg9FVWQu93aIvCKJwuGjX-Sk-4keHqaRY3YkYNY8LWLTDppYxmsywYrPwWXR39sNlxJ7LPwaaHal-U14x8qQxZU_M2RiDrU/s400/seo+basic.jpg" width="400" />
To this
<img alt="SEO tips for beginners" border="0" height="352" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgAP8ngV-ffjfIVn7rgVZ_Ku6ClCCPKVn9c0KclCdKOBRGVg9FVWQu93aIvCKJwuGjX-Sk-4keHqaRY3YkYNY8LWLTDppYxmsywYrPwWXR39sNlxJ7LPwaaHal-U14x8qQxZU_M2RiDrU/s400/seo+basic.jpg" width="400" />
You will notice the words colored in red has been added to the image tag. You just add alt tag and insert a keyword rich description.

3. Keywords

You should be conscious of placing appropriate keywords to your titles, content, URL and image description. Make sure it is related to your blogs content and you don't overuse it. Use tools like Google Adwords to search for appropriate keywords for your site, remember to select keywords with low competitions for you to rank better on search engines.

4. Internal linking

You should consistently link back to your past articles, use tools like linkwithin or nrelate for related post results. The more relevant words point to a page, the more likely that page is to appear in search results when users run a query with those terms.

5. Submit to search engines

Submitting your site to search engines will help you get indexed. But do not use auto submission service or a submission software it could get you penalized or banned. Here is the link to submit your site on Google  http://blogsearch.google.com/ping?hl=en

6. Find and fix broken links

A broken link is a hyperlink which does not take you to the required page when you click it. Sometimes these links produces errors in your browser. If you have a lot of link errors you will rank poorly on search engines, so I suggests fixing your links even just once every month.

Also read:

7. Create a sitemap

Adding a site map -- a page listing and linking to all the other major pages on your site -- makes it easier for spiders to search your site.

8. Updated content

Updating your content regularly will help you increase search engine rankings. High quality articles are rewarded highly by Google, avoid copy pasting other articles it will not help you and you will be penalized by most search engines.

9. Social media marketing

Most people are on social networking sites like facebook and twitter, if you post your articles on those websites it will help increase traffic. Just be careful and avoid spamming or else you will get banned. Make sure you are posting your links professionally.

10. Keep it simple

To rank highly on search engine all you need is plain common sense. Avoid copying other articles, make sure your site loads fast, avoid unnecessary graphics and it must be user friendly.

11. Meta tags in a single post

Before, putting meta tags in a single post is a lot of work. But now blogger make it easier by putting search description in your blog post. If you are going to create a new post, take a look on the right side and enter the description of your blog post.

Is your blog affiliate marketing ready
Affiliate marketing is a kind of relation between the website owner and the business owner. A webmaster is also called a publisher and the business owner is an advertiser. For a business to success they need to advertise, a website is one of the best way to advertise a product, and that is when affiliate marketing enters. Business owners offers commissions to website owners to publish or advertise their products or service for sale. In other words, bloggers help advertisers sell their products to its readers.

If you want to make huge bucks online I suggest affiliate marketing, because many professional bloggers earn a lot from it. But, it is not easy especially for beginners. For you to become successful you need to have a blog integrated and ready for affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing payment method

  • Cost Per Sale- a publisher gets paid if he sells a product.
  • Cost Per Lead- an affiliate receives a commission if he leads a customer to that website.
  • Cost Per 1000 impressions- an advertisers pays the publisher if the ads is viewed 1000 times, this is great for blogs that has a high amount of traffic.
  • Cost Per Click- the merchant pays the publisher if a visitor clicks on an ads, this is the same as Google's Adsense.

Website criteria

  • Those with high traffic
  • Your readers trust you and has a high credibility
  • Those sites that has a profitable niches
  • Up to date and always fresh

Tips to make your blog affiliate marketing ready

1. Make your template ads ready

First thing you need to do is to have a blog template ready for advertising. There are a lot of free blog templates out there you can choose. A good template for ads is very important, because it creates an impact on the products you sell, place them perfectly and they will be easily noticed. Always save some space for your ads.

2. Write contents related to your product

This is one of the most important thing to remember when you are into affiliate marketing. Your contents should match with your ads. Example, if you are blogging on how to get fit, you should put ads related to fitness and loosing weight, so that you will have a higher chance of selling that product from your audience.

3. Choose only a handful of great products

A lot of publishers didn't make money through affiliate marketing is because they are promoting and trying to sell too many products. You only need to promote a handful of products and remember that it should align correctly with the topic of your site.

4. Create personal reviews

If you are a blogger with high credibility, writing personal reviews on the product you are selling is a great way to get that extra commissions. Most successful bloggers do that, they review a product to be endorsed to their readers. Be sure to be honest because your credibility is on the line. But limit yourself from too much reviews, only mention it when it is relevant to the conversation and then provide it with links. Your goal as a blogger is to entertain and give useful information to your readers not to strictly sell products or else you will loose readers.

5. Do a research on the demand of the product

If you are going to sell, make sure it sells. If its demand is very low chances are that you cannot sell that product no matter how hard you try. Do a survey on what you're readers likes, create a poll on your website to get a hint on what product or service they want.

6. Stay current and up to date

Affiliate marketing is very competitive and that is why you need to be consistently up to date about your topic and the products you are endorsing. You need to be updated on the latest techniques or else you will be left behind.

7. Choose the right merchant

Promoting a product is also promoting the company and the person behind it. Do your homework, check if the merchant has a good track record. Your credibility is on the line, you give advice to people to buy that product, if they are very unhappy with the product they purchase they probably won't come back for more and you will loose readers. Just make sure you are endorsing a product or service that will satisfy their needs.

8. Track your affiliate marketing campaign

You need to use different product promotion for your campaign, in that way you will know what works and what doesn't. Changing your strategy here and there can dramatically increase your profit. Try changing or experimenting with your ad banners, monitor the behavior of your readers and check where the ads are visible or where it blends perfectly with your website. Most affiliate programs gives you basic statistics on your campaign, so use it.

If you keep this in mind, you will earn a lot of money and not loose a single readers instead they will refer your service and you will increase more visitors and potential customers. A structured plan is always need to become successful in affiliate marketing.

My 5 Deadly Blogger Mistakes

/ Wednesday, December 12, 2012 /

It has been 3 years since I became active online and been blogging for almost 2 years, yet I am still very new to this blogging kind of stuff and yes I am a newbie. Because I was such a moron I did a LOT of blogging mistakes which I am going to share today .

The first year was fun, because it wasn't that complicated, all I did was have fun blogging and I didn't even know you could make money out of it. Then I decided to make it a full time hobby, and try to increase my ranks and traffic.

Blogging is like an online game to me, I want to level up as much as possible and surpass other bloggers like me. But instead of climbing to the top I started loosing traffic, and rankings because I made some mistakes and I was too lazy to do all those stuff that could boost my traffic and rank.

This is my confession, and this is my deadly blogger mistakes.

Mistake #1.  I Have No Goal

This is the first of my blogging mistake I noticed, I was such an airhead I did blog for no purpose, no goal, I just sat on the computer, post some stuff and leave it. Having a goal is one of the most important thing you should keep in mind and ask these questions to yourself first.

why do I want to blog?
what is my purpose? fame? money? fun?

Mistake #2.  No Promotion

At first I thought, when you start blogging you just write and leave it there, wrong! what is the purpose of blogging if you don't have any readers. If you see my very first blog design most people would probably laugh at it because it sucks and has no social sharing buttons in which you cannot share your post to any social networking sites.

Promotion should be a routine when you are done writing. Share your latest post on your friends, family, use sites like facebook and twitter for spreading your post like a virus.

Mistake #3. Writing for Myself

I did make blogging a diary before. I posted some nonsense stuff like, what is my favorite movie, actors, why I hate this and that and the result was dismal, I didn't have any comments, page view is so low in short nobody gives a crap about my diary.

My life isn't actually boring, but who cares about an average Joe who blogs just about anything that enters his mind. Lets face it, readers come to your site to be entertained or learn something new, they don't care about your whining, how crappy your life is, or why your boyfriend dumps you.

If you want to be a successful blogger always keep in mind of what the readers might like and think only a little about yourself. Your beliefs and opinions should be minimized and not be prioritized in all of your article.

Mistake #4. I Didn't Purchase a Hosting Service

Yes, I admit! I still keep the ".blogspot.com" on my domain name because of that I still suck. As an unemployed blogger, I don't have that much resources spending on my hobbies, including blogging. Actually I want to purchase a hosting service maybe next year. I found some sites that offer a very cheap web hosting in which I can actually afford.

But before I remove the ".blogspot.com" I need to save money for buying a new laptop, the one I am currently using is made in Germany and I have trouble with its settings and keyboard, it is also very slow.

Every blogger or website owner should have its own domain name, blogger.com is really good for newbies like me because it is free, but it still owned by Google. Disadvantage of not having your own domain name is that, Google can delete your blog anytime if they want to.

Mistake #5. My Mind on the Money

This deadly mistake almost make me quit blogging. Since the day I learned how to make money with Google's Adsense, I get so impatient, I was so eager getting my first paycheck. I often check my daily earnings, and when I see it didn't grow I almost quit blogging because some devil just entered my head and start whispering that I don't have what it takes to succeed.

But after almost 5 months quitting, I finally realized that I love doing it, I miss writing, I miss answering comments and emails. My reason for blogging is NOT to make money, it is about learning and sharing what you learned, back to your readers. Because of those blogger mistakes FH2M was born last October, my main reason is to tell the readers that making money online is not easy as it looks.

13 Reasons I will leave your blog in 20 seconds

/ Sunday, December 2, 2012 /

I have been thinking about this for a long time, on what turn people off on a website and leave in under a minute without checking out its content. What can you do to make them stay? does your site really sucks?

Before I became a blogger I was a web surfer, I just love going to different websites checking them out, if I see something interesting I will bookmark them. If I found some good sites, of course there is always those horrible blogs and website that are worth leaving under 20 seconds. Lets start what makes me leave your site instantly.

1. Pop ups

Again and again pop ups are really annoying, I don't like them it distracts my view and my mood. My laptop is old, and usually pop ups are reasons why it hanged a lot. Ad pop ups like clixsor annoys me, when I see them I instantly closes the whole site.

2. Auto played video

When I want to read, I want it to be silent as possible and sites having those auto played video distracts my reading pleasure. I don't care if it has a great quality content, but when there is such an annoying video popping up from nowhere I don't hesitate leaving and pressing that "x" button.

3. Slow loading speed

I am living in a rural area where Internet is really slow, so when I am visiting a site that took me more than minutes to fully view its homepage, it makes me wanna leave. A blog or website should be fast loading and don't put too much graphics, it affects your loading speed.

4. Badly designed navigation

I have seen this site having very bad navigation but it has great content I even subscribe on its email list but I rarely visit that site because it gives me headaches navigating and also takes around 3 minutes to load because it is a flash based website. A sites navigation needs to be intuitive, descriptive and straightforward.

5. Ads over content

This is one of the mortal sin in blogging that you must not do. Remember that you blog to express yourself and not to publish ads. Also having lots of ads makes your site slower and its not only annoying to the eyes it also tests your patience waiting. Sites having tons of ads instead of contents makes me wanna leave and never come back, ever!

6. Immediate registration demands

Have you visited a site where you can't access its content but have to register first? I have, and my answer was clicking the close button.

7. Auto sound

I hate it when there is noise while reading. If your site has an auto sound or an auto mp3 player I will not come back visiting. I think it is OK but please don't put it on auto play, people get irritated hearing songs that they don't like.

8. Ugly design

First impression lasts, that is why you need to make a beautiful designed website or blog because its design is the first thing that people notice. If your blog is badly designed visitors will leave your site in an instant.

9. Too much flashing, graphics and scrolling kind of shit

If I see a blog that looks like a nightclub I click the close button in just a second. I don't like those flying flashing kind of thing, and even too much scrolling on the side bar, because it makes your site looks childish. Just make it simple, no shit kind of stuff and people will appreciate your sites simplicity.

10. Dead blog

If I see a blog in which its latest posts in from the year 2003 then I won't bother reading or visiting it. A blog needs to be fresh and updated because most people are looking for something new not old.

11. Bad choice of colors

Colors are important when reading, a light-friendly to the eye colors are the ones you should choose when designing your blog. Do not use dark colors on blog post color backgrounds, it makes me cry while reading.

12. Poor spelling and grammar

If your site is about teaching some stuff then you should learn how to be good in grammar, you don't need to worry about spelling if you activate spelling checker. Having poor grammar confuses your readers and makes them wanna leave and never come back again.

I am not really good in English,  but I am trying my best to express my thoughts on a foreign language

13. Boring

If you are blogging then make it interesting. Some sites are really boring, no life, no clarity on what it is about, author also boring, they just write on whats on their mind and that is all, no about me page, no popular posts, no comments, in short no no no no one will like a boring blog like that! and you are just wasting your time blogging, just watch TV instead.

How to create a blog on blogger | Advantage and Disadvantage

/ Thursday, November 22, 2012 /

Kumusta! today I will share to you how to start up and create your very first blog on blogger.com. I recommend this blogging platform for those who has no budget for hosting or for those who knows little or none about HTML or CSS, you can also earn money blogging through Google Adsense. But before we start I would like to share to you the Advantage and Disadvantage of blogger.com.

Advantage

  • Easy to use. If you have a google account, you can use it to log in into blogger.com, once you finished signing up you can start blogging right away!
  • No need to install anything.
  • Domain name is free. Although you can see a .blogspot.com in your domain name, it is still free. You can remove it later if you want.
  • Very easy to post. If you are familiar with microsoft word or paint, then you will not have a hard time using blogger when posting articles, because it looks like the same. Its dashboard is user friendly and easy to use.
  • One dashboard. All you need is one blogger.com account and you can create multiple blogs and you can manage them all in one dashboard.
  • Blog theme is easy to change. If you can't design your own template, there are many sites that offer blogger templates, you can try them without cost.
  • No special skills needed. You don't need to be techie savvy, but a little knowledge would definitely help.
  • Google friendly.

Disadvantage

  • Limited flexibility. Compared to self hosted blogs like wordpress.org, your blogger has its limitation on terms of flexibility. Some blogger blogs almost looked the same because it has limitations on its design.
  • You don't own your blog. Although you own your articles and posts, blogger.com is owned by Google. It is just like you are renting an office space that is not yours.
  • Google can delete your blog anytime. If you violate some of their rules on using blogger, your blog can easily be deleted, and it sucks a lot! all of your hardwork could banish anytime if Google wants to.
  • Blog name is long. Having ".blogspot.com" in your blog domain could be annoying. Most people are used to typing without a sub domain.
  • SEO limitations. It could be, it could be not. Actually for me it depends on the blogger itself on how he markets on search engines. But blogger.com has no SEO plugins compared to wordpress. In blogger.com SEO is done manually.

Now we are done with the introduction lets begin creating a blog on blogger.com.

How to create a blog on blogger.com

1. Go to blogger.com. You can sign in using your Google account if you have one. If you have no Google account you should create one.

2. Once you are done signing in, go to your blogger dashboard and click on new blog. As you can see on the image above you will put the title of your blog and its URL. I suggest you use a domain name that matches with your blog topic. Once the address is available you can choose templates below and click on create blog.

3. Now that you have a blog you can start posting articles. Design your blog some other time, you need to have at least 15 articles on your blog. And you are done!

If you have some questions about redesigning it you can comment below or visit my my articles about blogger tips, widgets, and tricks.

Happy blogging!

Blog and website: are they the same

/ Friday, November 16, 2012 /

People seems to be confused about blogs and websites (I was one of them before). Today I will discuss about it. Technically blogs and websites are the same, but there are distinct and relevant differences and advantages to both.

What is the difference between a blog and a website

A blog is like a magazine

A blog is a website designed to engage an audience with fresh content just like in a magazine. If you are a blogger you are also considered as a publisher. Your latest post is the first page of a magazine and your home page is the cover.

Search engines love blogs because it provides fresh and has relevant content. Search engines like Google gives importance to those blogs with high quality articles, by putting them on the first page when someone searches their keywords.

If you go to CNN.com you will see a lot of topics to read, from sports, politics to entertainment. What if you only like sports? then that's the time people search for blogs. People has different interests and a niche blog provides that service.

Because a blog is specific and always fresh, they are a target for a lot of advertisers. And that is why you can make a living through blogging.

A Website is like a digital store

Some consumers are more concerned about the product and ready to buy. They don't have time for those product reviews etc.

If you have a service or a product on high demand, then a website is perfect for your business. A website is like a online store, where service and products are already placed and ready for the customer to purchase.

If you're website is struggling to attract new readers and customers then you should combine a traditional website and a blog.

Remember the Internet is usually used to search, and blogs are the ones appearing highly on search engines rather than websites because they are specific and always has new content. Creating a blog for your website will help you increase visibility on search engines.

A blog and a website

Blog
  • Content is regularly updated.
  • Not formal.
  • Interactive.
  • Informative and educational.
  • Interactivity about industry/customer issues.
  • Some people have a blog.
Website
  • Content is static.
  • Formal/professional.
  • Interactivity does not exist. There is only one-way communication.
  • Transactional.
  • Communication about products and/or services.

How to Choose a profitable blog niche | Most Profitable Topic

/ Thursday, November 15, 2012 /

Good day everyone! Today I will share to you a tips on how to choose a profitable blog niche. Since one of the main topic of this blog is making money, then I will guide you all the way to finally getting your first pay check. This topic is for beginners or those who failed making money using their blogs.

One of the first step in making a profitable blog is selecting a niche that could generate revenue. Not every niche topic is profitable for example is, life tips blogs, one of the reason it will not generate revenue is because there are no advertisements about  that said topic. Adsense will have a hard time giving you ads to display.

If you want to succeed you should keep in mind of your Interest, hobby and expertise as well as popularity, competition and profitability of that topic when choosing a topic area.

Here are my tips on how to choose a profitable blog niche

1. Make a blog out of your hobby or interest. Do you like designing your own clothes? then share and make a blog about it, who knows someone might just discover you. The important thing is you have fun doing it. For start ups, money is not the main reason why you blog.

2. Topic area must be huge. Choosing a niche should not only be of your interest, but also has the potential to attract a huge amount of visitors. Don't blog about yourself, because it will not generate income. You also need to select a topic where you can create a lot of articles so that readers will be coming back everyday looking for something new.

3. Search volume must be high. If you have selected a niche where only a hundred people search it every month, then don't do it, you will not make a profit out of it.

I have here the 10 most profitable niche of 2012
  • Health and Fitness. There is not doubt that these niche could generate millions of dollars. According to a finance book, anti aging and the health industry is the next trillion dollars!
  • Insurance. This is the 2nd most profitable blog niche. Topics include life insurance, automobile, health insurance, etc.
  • Internet, web hosting. There is no doubt that this niche could generate income. This blog's niche actually belongs to that category. Computer hardware, software reviews, downloads, internet security suites, SEO tools, SEO automation software, Domain name registrations, web hosting, networking tools etc. are the hottest topics here.
  • Banking and finance. This is a very high paid niche. Topics include banking in general, credit cards, loan repayment, debt consolidation, credit management, finance and etc.
  • Legal / Lawyer related. Searches for attorneys and lawyers has increased ad bidding rates related with this topic. Finding lawyers, specialized attorney helps etc. can increase your benefits, from a blog with related content.
  • Automobiles. Use of automobiles are increasing day by day. Blogs intended to help people in finding suitable vehicles, review of vehicles, automobile loans, used vehicle sale etc. is blooming in this niche.
  • Real Estate. Real estate ads attract huge revenues. Topics like building planning, real estate flip sale, rent, lease etc. will earn you a better living.
  • Dating and relationships. Lonely people with cash, makes this niche a hot one. Dating tips, networking on dating etc. can make this niche more effective in drawing huge money. I actually have this kind of blog.
  • Consumer Electronics. This topic has become hot discussion topics for many new entrepreneurs. New gadgets, home appliance reviews, mobile phones etc. form main topics.
  • Antiques and valuables. Not a mainstream topics and hence, chances to succeed are high. Letting people know about, buy, sell and exhibit antiques through your blog can attract huge revenues.
4. It must have advertising potential. It means you should find a sufficient amount of advertisers for that topic. But if you are running a non profitable blog it shouldn't matter.

5.  It is better to take in to consideration about the competition. If competition is low there are much more chances for your blog could be in the top in search results. Top ten in search results means more traffic and therefore more income.

10 Sure Ways to Make a Profitable Blog

You probably heard that you can make money online with niche blogs. But you don't know how. In this post I will share to you the steps to build a profitable niche blog to monetize and finally make money! If you have been blogging, but still didn't make the earnings you are hoping,  then you probably missed on something.

I have here 10 steps to build a profitable blog niche that will surely make you money.

1. Select a profitable market.

The first step is to select for a market. Make sure you know a lot about it if it is profitable today and even in the near future. You need to know if that market is the next big thing and try to create effective strategies on how to edge other competitors.

Stay updated for the latest information about your market. Be knowledgeable about its recent development and news. If you can do that consistently, you are 1 step closer to blogging success.

2. Avoid Niche Distractions.

The second step is to avoid being unfocused for a certain topic. This usually happens for new bloggers, because sometimes there are ideas popping out of nowhere and you think it is cool and you tend to apply it to your blog, then you lost focus on a certain topic.

Don't give in , do not change your topic. If you are blogging about weigh-loss then don't blog about cancer research, because some people are only interested on one topic and focusing to one niche will make you an expert and will rank highly on search engine.

3. Plan before you go to battle.

Usually some Internet Marketers forget the third step, that is why some of them failed. Planning is very important like, you need to have a plan on how to attack search engines, and what is your marketing strategy.

Planning also involves keywords. Don't write any articles yet, do your research and pick those keywords that will match perfectly to your site.

4. Study on your market.

Fourth step is to study about your chosen market. If you're chosen topic is very popular, then you need to study more and dig deeper.

Also study about the behavior of your targeted audience. Studies will help you to know about how they make buying decisions, what is it about that they like about this product/ service.

5. Many head is better than one.

The fifth step is you need other people to do your work. Although you can do it by yourself, as a newbie blogger you haven't made any money yet, let's say you have a day job and you have little time writing on your blog, so you need to hire someone to do work for you.

Some bloggers and webmasters are not really writers, so they hire writers mostly online. You can found them on sites like oDesk or Fiverr, and yes, you need money unless, you have someone willing to do it for free.

6. Write relevant and quality content.

What is it?
when your articles, posts and marketing campaigns are relevant to your audience, specific and helpful, it’s a quality content. To tell you honestly, there is nothing in this world that hasn't been already written.

Our task is to rewrite that is already written. But put your writing style into it and add some quality effort ( like putting pictures, slideshows or cartoons related to the topic ) so that your audience will like it and will not hesitate sharing it to other people.

7. Build anchor text backlinks from your site.

If you have a lot of backlinks, search engine will see your site as very important. But, you don't just need links, you need quality links related to your keywords. When you are building links, make sure you use the primary keywords and phrases as anchor text. By doing this, search engine will reward you by putting your site on the right direction.

8. Find a product that can sell.

Selling online is not easy, because most customers already know what they want and will think twice buying the product/service you are offering. Your role as a niche marketer is NOT selling, you are going to pre-sell them the more about the product. Point out the strong benefits about the product and use it as a hook to lure them into the checking out page. Of course, a site related to its niche and product will have a higher chance to sell.

9. Promote your blog.

For me, Marketing is King and Content is Queen.

Promoting your niche site is very important to make a profitable blog. There are many ways to market your brand. Here are some of it
  • Social Networking sites
  • Press Release
  • Advertising on other blogs
  • Submit videos on you tube
  • Guest posting
  • SEO services

10. This is not a sprint its a marathon.

Blogging takes time to master, this is not a job. For me, it's my hobby and I am having fun doing it.
The tenth step is, this is not a race, this is not about who gets there first, but about who survives.

If you are passionate about making a profitable blog, I suggest of not giving up and just do your thing CONSISTENTLY. Being committed and consistent will be your fuel to become a successful niche blogger.
