It is important to keep the surfaces of the kitchen clean, as the dirt and germs are always present and can go to our plate. Let’s know some natural ways to keep the kitchen disinfected and clean.cleaning kitchen surfaces

How to Clean Kitchen Surfaces

Tips for cleaning surfaces and kitchen utensils

The kitchen is one of the rooms or rooms of the home to which we must pay more attention when it comes to cleaning, order, and disinfection. And there is a simple reason for this: in the kitchen, all foods are prepared from consumption, and the lack of prudence in cleaning could bring any kind of illness to any member of the household.

Let us learn in a simple and natural way to clean different surfaces and elements of the kitchen, so as not to take risks and, also, to take care of our environment and our health.

Clean the chopping boards

The best way to avoid cross-contamination (ie when bacteria from raw meats are spread to raw vegetables when using the same chopping board) is to use a specific table for each type of food: Meats (including one for red and one for white), vegetables, fruits, cold cuts, and also, a different one for cooked foods.

“The best way to avoid cross-contamination is by using a specific table for each type of food.”

But in addition to differentiating the tables, we must keep them impeccable. To clean and disinfect a plastic table, simply rub with a synthetic brush, in hot water, and with dish soap. To clean a wooden board, instead, it is best to sprinkle baking soda and lemon juice, rubbing with a clean synthetic brush and letting it act before rinsing with plenty of hot water. Let dry thoroughly, either in the air or with a clean cloth.

Clean kitchen countertops and pottery

As with cutting boards, wooden tables and islands have to be disinfected with baking soda and lemon juice or, if not, a few drops of alcohol white vinegar. Then rinse with a clean cloth or sponge moistened with warm water.

The aluminum surfaces can be cleaned simply with liquid dish detergent and hot water without using chemicals that may leave a film of inconvenient waste. If you want a better disinfection, finish cleaning by wiping with a cloth soaked in alcohol white vinegar and hot water in equal parts, or only with vinegar.

With this technique, you can also clean the surfaces of granite, marble and natural stones by rubbing with a brush of synthetic bristles for the mixture to enter the pores.

The surfaces of glass, glass, and mirrors, on the other hand, will be better if the sprays with alcohol white vinegar and rubs with a soft cloth, to disinfect them and also to remove the grease.

The stainless steel surfaces and utensils can keep a neat appearance and disinfected if you go over a little baking soda dissolved in a few drops of hot water. Wet a soft cloth or sponge and rinse vigorously, leave for a few minutes, and rinse with a cloth moistened with warm water. Finish drying thoroughly with a soft, clean cloth.

“As with the chopping boards, the wooden tables and islands are to be disinfected with baking soda and lemon juice.”

Clean the floors of the kitchen

The cork floors are cleaned with a mixture of warm water and a few drops of detergent or dish soap, gently rubbing them with a mop or sponge, and then rinsing with a damp cloth. Try to dry it or leave good ventilation to avoid condensation of humidity, and give frequent maintenance with a vacuum cleaner, to avoid accumulated dirt.

The wood floors can be cleaned in the same way, sweeping or vacuuming previously to prevent liquid “sticking” to the existing dirt. Try to ventilate well, and keep residues or wet stains from remaining on the floor, immediately wiping them with paper napkins.

The plastic or laminate flooring, as well as the vinyl, can be cleaned with a cup of white distilled vinegar dissolved in two liters of water. A fleet with liquid using a mop, cloth or sponge, and let the air be vented for impeccable cleaning and disinfection.
